Will not fit in a standard outlet

I was looking for an outlet with multiple plugs and USB ports. I thought that was it. Unfortunately, the plastic pin on the back is in the wrong place. This plug does not fit into our standard sockets. If you cut off the plastic pin on the back, you can use it. However, I think that's unsafe. It might have fit in other outlets, but it didn't fit in ours.
