My daughter received this item for Christmas 2000 and it is in very good condition. It's a bit worn now and we think we'll be replacing it soon. My daughter is an aspiring marine biologist and is very interested in observing her own fish. She started with 2 goldfish but one died within the first week. We then went back to the pet store and bought a good filter that worked wonders to keep it clean and our remaining goldfish happy and healthy. Has been running for over 2 years now with no problems! I think this is a great product and a great first introduction for pets. Much more fun than a regular goldfish tank! It's only big enough for 1 or 2 small fish so keep that in mind before you buy!
