Review on SilverStone Technology Compact Mini-ITX PC Case with Black Mesh Front Panel (SST-SG13B-USA) by Hemant Hemant ᠌
Average quality, not an outstanding product.
I took it for testing (it was interesting to look at one of the cheapest silvers). When I received it, I was immediately alarmed by the light weight. The kit did not include Zavard's fans so beloved by the heart (a kind of Silverstone business card), and indeed there were no fans at all. But branded flat screws left me hope (until I found a knocked-down thread on one of them). However, at the very beginning of the assembly, I guessed that it was still a fake. The quality of the metal and paint (silverstone does not paint the inner ribs, but here it is painted; the thickness of the paint is catastrophically small, the metal is foil, the plastic is thin), errors in the size of the ribs and other trifles, which, by the way, distinguish silvers from consumer goods - everything speaks of a fake . Don't take this box. For the same money you can buy a solid thermal take.
- Appearance. Backlight (the diodes are at the bottom and create a blue stripe, and in the center of the stripe the diode on the HDD turns softly red under load). The distance between the PSU and the motherboard allows you to install a full-fledged RAM with a high radiator (for example, crusial ballistix) and massive flat coolers. Massive video cards fit (eg msi r7 370 armor). And, probably, the price is one of the cheapest silverstones. But, as it turned out during the assembly process, this is a fake.
- Metal. The top cover (it's also the side ones - all in one piece) is so thin and curved that it doesn't sit tightly on the frame and constantly "squishes". With a purpose unknown to science, 2 rectangular recesses were made at the top (where the grate is). They probably wanted to "press" the lid, but it turned out the other way around - it "squishes" even more. The "edge" for connecting hard drives is made with an error. It also "squishes" but it does not matter. The trouble is that you won't be able to connect 2.5' drives to it if you have a regular ATX power supply. It's just that the sata and power connectors become right next to the power supply unit. Even corner connectors do not solve the problem. The frame itself is more or less solid, but the heavy PSU bends it slightly. The plastic "muzzle" does not match the lid. Corner cut at the factory. A separate point is the ease of installation. The fact is that after installing the PSU, you will not install a long video card. The catch lies in a small influx on the frame, which does not allow you to put the card exactly on top. Another important drawback is that the screws for the HDD are made for a small Phillips screwdriver. Why is not clear, but it is. It will be difficult to install the CBO recommended by the manufacturer - there is simply nowhere to put the wires from the PSU.
