A must have for my 10 gallon betta aquarium

Great for my 10 gallon battle tank! I've ordered them 3 times in the last 6 months or so. I have not used them for pH adjustment. I live in an area where the water is already fairly soft and alkaline so I was a bit worried that this would negatively affect the pH but it didn't. My betta has been struggling with fin rot since I rescued him from the pet store and despite everything I've tried to keep his water fresh or smooth aquarium surfaces, nothing helps his fins grow back. I don't think he's in any danger of death as he seems quite happy, has a good appetite and is very sociable with me. Now I've narrowed it down to diet (I'm working on it to hopefully give him live food for quality protein) and stress (we survived the move which involved 2 tank moves plus ongoing construction at my new location). ). These leaves eventually fall apart and can make a mess, so I take them out after 2-3 weeks, but my gravel vacuum and filter clear the water of dirt or mist fairly quickly. I don't notice a strong brown discoloration. The electrician in my new apartment remarked that my betta aquarium was the best he had ever seen. Anyway, I'm concerned about the shadow these leaves cast on living plants; however, live plants also don't like the full effect of LED lights in a hood. My rooster loves blowing up bubble nests underneath (he's building the biggest nest he's ever made). I use them to reflect the filter stream and when I had ghost shrimp the ghost shrimp liked to munch on them too. I can't say with scientific certainty that it makes a huge difference, but I feel and observe that they certainly don't hurt and give the fish a quiet spot, shrimp food and my water not very brown, although I keep 2-3 leaves at the same time in the aquarium.
