Review on Frogg Toggs Cascades Classic50 Vest Motorcycle & Powersports by Justin Newport

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought for the price, count on simple perfection.

After reading the reviews I decided I wouldn't be wrong given the low price. I've been looking west for a few weeks. Some fancy ones, with a price to match. Lots of basic ones with good price. I kept coming back to this vest and wondering how good it could be for such a low price? Now that I've been using it for a few weeks, reality has arrived. Unusual waistcoats with an incredible number of pockets. In fact, I would never use them. This basic vest with enough practical pockets is perfect in my opinion! How much crap are you gonna carry in your vest while roaming the creek? The material of the vest is very light but durable. It breathes well when left out in the sun all day, and when I slipped on the slippery rocks and dunked the lower pockets in the water, everything in the pockets stayed dry. I'm sure if you hold it underwater the zippers will let water through but the material won't. I read a few reviews that this vest is too short. It's a fishing vest! It should be short so you can hike along streams and rivers in waders! Excellent pocket placement. One pocket has a dry fly pad that you can attach flies to. The zippers above the bottom pockets are for two very roomy pockets the size of the entire bottom panel. The loop in the lower right corner is used to hold the lower part of the rod and the Velcro on the upper chest allows you to hold the rod with your free hands while tying a new fly or lure. The vest is just great! I no longer have a longing for fancy waistcoats. Let them be worn by a trendy fisherman, I'll take what works well at an even better price!
