Monitor frames are dirty - you need to clean them first.
Mine sticks quite well. But you have to remember that monitors attract dust. Even if it doesn't look like it, your monitor frame is probably dirty. I wiped mine with alcohol first, then taped the shelf, then left it for 24 hours. I have my calendar on it and it seems quite durable. I'm not sure if a piece of curved plexiglass costs $10, but there doesn't seem to be any other solution. The company that sells them should include an alcohol-based cleaning pad.
