Good but bad hoses.
When I got a siphon, the work worked like a charm. Shortly thereafter, the hoses he was walking in began to kink, causing the flow of water to stop. Bought some heavier hoses (which were difficult to attach to jets) and media, made sure the siphon ran with a full tank, did a 50% water change and had crystal clear water within two days.
