
this works for my purpose of providing a connection that I can disconnect (we get lightning strikes and I don't quite trust the surge protectors - or rather, why take the risk? ) and I don't want to overload the connection on the computer. I'd rather pay $5 for something worn than $100 for repairs. Anyhow, it seems to work on a Cat6 network with no noticeable degradation. Speed not tested yet.
