The best coffee and espresso since Daily Caffe NYC!

I bought this car about 3 weeks ago and I keep coming back to praise it. I've had the best coffee since I've worked at the Daily Caffe in New York (bonus if you know what the name means). Admittedly, this is only partly due to the machine. The rest depends on what type of coffee you're buying and whether it's properly ground for the type of coffee you want (espresso or brew coffee). A few things for a beginner to understand (I was one too!) that the instructions don't make obvious: 1) 2 different power buttons, 1 on the left for espresso, for preheating (not extraction); The other on the front is for actually starting the coffee brewing. They are not connected in any way. To recap, extracting espresso is a two-step process (preheat on, extraction on). To brew coffee, just press a button. Why they aren't BOTH on the front panel is anyone's guess. I can't imagine they would expect people to leave the espresso heating element on all the time while turning the coffee brew on and off as needed. (If you do that with this machine, don't do it! You're asking for trouble in the long run.) 2) DO NOT assume that the espresso button on the front panel is the on button! It should not be pressed unless you really want the espresso to come out of the machine. While the brew button immediately starts dispensing coffee into the pot, the espresso button on the side wall simply heats up the espresso machine. After pressing the espresso button on the side panel, you must wait until the green LED on the espresso button on the front panel indicates that it is ready for use (30-45 seconds). THEN you can start making espresso by pressing this espresso button on the front. This is a manual machine. It delivers espresso until you press the button again to turn it off. When I first started the machine after pouring water into the espresso tank, I pressed the espresso button on the front AND the espresso button on the side panel. Button. Pretty soon, hot water was spurting out of the espresso cup and making a mess. Lesson learned.
