Connected LTE. What don't you like?* It's Verizon's fastest LTE hotspot, but mostly for the connectivity.* It's got great battery life* It's got problem-free Wi-Fi, as well as guest Wi-Fi: Any optional* band Wi-Fi that's included is surprisingly good. Hotspot [socket, charging] in the kitchen, laptop in the playroom in the long hallway.* It is equipped with a USB modem. Use much less battery when connected (by software) to an access point. If necessary, disable Wi-Fi or allow other Wi-Fi devices to connect while tethering. * FDD LTE > TDD LTE :: CDMA > TDMA+ Significant Improvement: Forgetting the admin password makes the hotspot no longer an expensive building block as many older models + Wi-Fi clients can connect before the GUI access screen appears after startup. CONS: - Required firmware "updates" - Slow boot times - LTE antenna not very good in weaker locations or in certain buildings - Cannot adjust notification volume. only enabled or disabled. - Automatically adding a device to an account ACCEPT an "activation fee" without notice until billed. $20 a month for 15 gigabytes of Verizon LTE isn't too outrageous. Throttling to 3g after using an LTE basket is much better than TELLO throttling to "2g" (64kbps). I have a backup sprint hotspot for tello, mvno sprint. Its LTE is much more expensive: 19 coins for 3 gigabytes per month, but it's prepaid (and can be purchased anonymously). OOO [&seller=A1512DZE0H120G]. I trust used rather than refurbished.
