my daughter liked these headphones from another brand we tried. They are snug but comfortable. They have soft ear pads and are well padded. I'm not sure if these headphones really limit the sound to 85dB. I bought 2 different headphones to try. Both said they capped the sound at 85dB. At full volume, both sounded a bit loud. I think they controlled the volume, I just can't make sure it's kept at 85dB. However, these are good headphones and well made. If you don't like cat ears, you don't need to attach them. I would recommend these headphones. As with anything to do with your kids ears, I would monitor usage and make sure they aren't listening too loud.
