All right ladies. This is the FOURTH mirror I have bought. and it's a keeper! It was a frustrating experience when my long-standing plug-in magnifying mirror finally broke after many years, and I never imagined finding a replacement would become such a chore. I've spent up to $80 and every mirror I've bought had (A) terrible magnification, was blurry and/or distorted, and (B) the light was too dim. I still can't believe so many other 10x mirrors have such terrible magnification. I had to move my face closer to see clearly, and as soon as I moved my face, the image distorted again and I felt dizzy. On the mirror behind the mirror. Conair. phloxite. Zadro. Bought and then sent back. Now and again. THIS GEM has excellent magnification quality (although I don't think it can be 10x. It appears to be a bit smaller, maybe 8x? - and I'm only guessing because the magnification is definitely strong) plucking or applying makeup, including false eyelashes , I need high magnification to attach them! I'm 64 years old.) Also, previous reviewers say the light is too dim. Light is BRIGHT! You just have to make sure you follow the instructions (click on the little icon and don't lift your finger until the light is at its brightest). I never intended to use this purchase for travel but the round base unscrews easily so YES it's very easy to pack in a suitcase. My other doubt was the need for charging as I prefer a simple permanent socket. This mirror came fully charged and as I wrote it shines bright enough. I have no idea how long this charge lasts and how often I need to charge it. There have been no reports of reloading issues, so I'm sure it will work just fine. In the end I am delighted with this simple and inexpensive cosmetic mirror.
