Review on Ultimate Adventure Companion: Osprey Packs Escapist Daypacks Medium by Dawn Johnson

Great heavy duty day pack and city pack with comfortable hip belt and handy pockets

After a thorough search on the internet I decided on this backpack for many reasons. return. Clearly durable and with plenty of pockets to make small items easy to find, as well as handy storage for keys and loose change. The main feature was the waist belt. Most small daypacks don't have a hip belt or are too flimsy. Most backpacks with a padded hip belt are too big for everyday use. The hip belt makes carrying heavy loads more comfortable by shifting the weight to the hips instead of the shoulders. (You tighten the hip belt and loosen the shoulder straps so they're mostly for balance. The chest strap is then important for keeping the pack on your back. Now all the weight is on your hips where it should be.) Two Pockets on the waist belt and a pocket on the shoulder straps are convenient for accessing keys, cash, coins, etc. without removing the pack. They are too small for a smartphone or wallet. The two large water bottle pockets on the sides are well secured with elastic bands and handy for all kinds of quick access items. On the back there is a large flat pocket with an elastic band that keeps quick-access items well without a zipper. The helmet lock's odd elastic strap can be used to hold a jacket or sweater. There are four zippered pockets, the zippers run the width of the backpack. Above small is good for glasses, wallet, phone. Then comes a large main pocket for larger items such as books, clothes, computers (in their own pocket as it is not a padded pocket0). The smaller pocket for things like pens, chargers, food bars has internal mesh pockets to help organize things Finally there is a pocket at the bottom that runs the full depth of the pack that you can put a light sleeping bag, sweater or jacket in . When not using this bag the main compartment is used with a sagging bottom. When not using the smaller bags the space can be taken by the main compartment. Works great. Very comfortable, comes in 2 sizes, enough adjustments for a small backpack. Holds its shape.Good .Easy access, lots of pockets.Looks good.Big enough for a lot of stuff.Worth the money. The blue color is easy to see but not noticeable.Laptop storage pocket i I wouldn't put a computer in there without in to be my own protective shell of what I do. It works great. Two pockets on the hip belt and one pocket on the shoulder belt are convenient and easily accessible when wearing a backpack, but too small for a smartphone. If you put a large smartphone in your backpack, you will have to detach the backpack to get to it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
