I used to use leaves from one of the most reputable and expensive online stores. It's comparable. Honestly. They looked and smelled great upon arrival. I soaked them in boiling water overnight before tearing them apart and placing them in the aquarium. They release tannins significantly and I noticed a slow but steady drop in pH and alkalinity. I have very hard water so I'm generally surprised to see this. Uses 6 leaves per 30 gallons. I only have inverts in my aquarium and have not noticed any side effects indicating a violation of the purity of this product.
