Description of Premium SunGrow Catappa Indian Almond Shrimp Leaves – 7-9 Inches: Enhance Your Shrimp Habitat with Natural Leaf Supplements

✔ CREATES CONDUCIVE AMBIANCE FOR SHRIMPS --- Several breeds of shrimp have habitats in mountain streams surrounded by overhanging trees and brush, making the area abundant in fallen leaves and plant debris. Adding Shrimp leaves to their tank mimics their original habitat and gives them the privacy for reproducing. A must-have for all shrimp breeders, these provide a secure shelter for grown up shrimps and a convenient hiding spot for baby shrimps. ✔ DELICIOUS TREAT FOR YOUR SHRIMPS --- A few days after you place the shrimp leaves in the tank, they will slowly settle down to the bottom. As they settle, they soften on which shrimp love to graze on. This food provides a balanced diet and aids in building your shrimp’s system. Shrimp love this delicious treat and will eat the leaves right down to the skeleton. ✔ RAW SHRIMP LEAVES --- For the most beneficial addition to your shrimp tank, the SunGrow Shrimp Leaves are a good choice. While products available in the market may or may not be genuine, the Giant catappa leaves are unprocessed. They vary in size with lengths of 7-9” (18-20 cm). If you have a smaller tank or varying size tanks, you can tear up the larger leaves into smaller pieces. ✔ A MUST-HAVE FOR SHRIMP KEEPERS --- These Indian Almond leaves are essential in keeping your shrimp happy. These leaves have beneficial properties that help in calming your shrimp (particularly important if you are introducing more or moving them). ✔ HANDPICKED FOR OPTIMUM QUALITY --- If you pick the leaves outside, you cannot be sure of the quality they might have. The catappa leaves are guaranteed to be genuine. PREPARATION: Before placing the product in the aquarium, rinse before use, even after boiling or soaking. A "post-boil soak" in fresh water is a recommended step, too.

Mine were good.: Aquarium water treatment

The leaves are big and beautiful! But it's been two months and it hasn't broken at all even though the shrimp chewed on it all day lol. Edit: It looks like they weren't mined or eaten, but it looks like they ate it and within a week or two it was a skeleton, so the shrimp are clearly eating it, rejecting my seaweed waffles and eat the leaves lol, I probably cut the leaf and added every two weeks so they have varying degrees of leaf to eat from fresh to slightly degraded

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Recommended for aquarists

I used to use leaves from one of the most reputable and expensive online stores. It's comparable. Honestly. They looked and smelled great upon arrival. I soaked them in boiling water overnight before tearing them apart and placing them in the aquarium. They release tannins significantly and I noticed a slow but steady drop in pH and alkalinity. I have very hard water so I'm generally surprised to see this. Uses 6 leaves per 30 gallons. I only have inverts in my aquarium and have not noticed any

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Damaged

My fish, shrimp and snails love them

I use them in all my aquariums. There have been issues with high pH levels and I've tried adding ground materials to the filtration system but this is much easier and provides a great hiding place for new babies and will break down in the tank over time. You'll have to soak them or let them float in your tank for a while to make them sink to the bottom, but once they're stuck in the water you can place them wherever you want. I have tested these and they are perfect for my 10 and 20 gallon…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Reliable
