If you know how to solder, you can use them. Keep in mind that unlike soldering, they don't use capillary action to fill small areas between tubes. You almost have to weld the parts together by literally rubbing the rod on the hot parts. If you don't feel the rod physically rubbing against the part, the solder may not be sticking and you will undercut while soldering. Before soldering, make sure the parts are clean and hot enough. I used sandpaper to clean the areas before soldering. I also used a regular propane torch to heat the parts. Also, NO flux is required as these rods are made of aluminum and zinc.
