Review on AMD Ryzen 3900X 24 Thread Processor by Adam Kardasz ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not a bad product, but you can find a better one.

Took incl. to work with sound, the result was very sad. In fact, I got only a deterioration compared to 4820k. Latency, on the contrary, has become higher (buffer 512 on old projects, where there is not even VSTi and everything is pre-rendered - a nightmare). The rest of the stone is fine. My copy works stably at 4200 MHz and 1.23750 V, which, as far as I understand, is a rarity. It is NOT NECESSARY to look at the CPUBenchmark rating in comparison with Intel! And if you do, be prepared for the fact that instead of the promised 40% in your task (ociated with a single thread), it can even go into a minus.

Pros
  • Started out of the box on an ASRock B450M STEEL LEGEND. Well drags streams, video converting, 3D rendering and other purely mulhreading. Feeders are warm, not hot - i. E. acceptable. When downvolting, the temperatures drop to 62-63 degrees in the load on a 150 watt cheap tower.
Cons
  • 4.6 GHz is bull, it doesn't happen on the 3900X. People have already said that 6% of the best stones take only 4.2GHz. You can try on X570, but most likely you are in for a fiasco. Single-coil performance is just below the 4820k from six years ago. To work with sound, it is categorically not recommended to take. Temperature jumps in default. No S3 with SMT disabled. I have to say this, yes, you will have problems with S3, who cares - be vigilant. In default, the stone is fried at 1.45 volts, if you don't want it to die - knock down the voltage with your hands. Difficulties with installing Windows 7, I also have to say about this, to whom it is important. The chipset (B450) is tactilely hot, keep that in mind.
