Review on Clarks Vanek Black Leather Medium Men's Shoes by Larry Daniels

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Clarks are great shoes, especially when they fit right!

This is the first pair of shoes I've bought and they fit me perfectly right from the start; I didn't want to take them off! I bought them with the idea of wearing them to the office but I wear them at home as slippers - they are so comfortable. I used to always wear Clarks, but I've noticed that the regular stores are disappearing. The quality has also gone down a bit in my opinion, but they are still one of the most comfortable business/casual shoes I can find. I'm a size 14, width AAA (narrow). I hate buying ill fitting shoes online since I was 13 years old when there was no size 11 in my small hometown. My parents drew my foot on a piece of paper and, as instructed, sent it to Big and Tall so they could send me some lousy shoes to wear. Now, if you live in a big city with hundreds of shops selling shoes, it's still almost impossible to find 14 slim shoes at a reasonable price. If they have 14 (which is rare, most reach "13"), then only in width. I would buy ill fitting 14s anyway, and the reason I can lace them up to fit. This look works with low-cut boots and tennis shoes, but not with loafers and dress shoes. While the narrow "AAA" width is still harder to find online, I can get a "medium width" that fits much better than the flip flops in EE. With a great online returns policy, it was long overdue to shop online for shoes to get the size I wanted (this seller provided a free shipping label to send them back if I didn't like them). Also, the price was about $50 less than what I paid at the store. where a child who doesn't know anything about shoes can get boxes from the back room. IF YOU HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS, I recommend next time you're in a shoe store (especially if there's no shoebox boy around) take your shoes off and go with this cool NASA designed look. a shoe-sized metal instrument (the so-called "Brannock device"). Standing straight, measure both feet and mark your left and right measurements (they can vary left to right so you may only need to size up one foot to keep both feet always comfortable), if not you should not be too narrow/wide or too long/short. Just order what you want online from a seller that's your size and a great return policy. That being said, I've known for a long time that the same sizes from different brands fit differently, especially when it comes to tennis shoes. But knowing your size and ordering from a trusted brand is much better suited for people with unusual foot sizes. (The Clarks have always been pretty consistent with the Brannock Device.) Now look for the Brannock Device and learn how to use the thing. Great shoes!
