Review on Mazuri Timothy Based Guinea Diet Pound by Karen Perez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Thanks very much! My darling can and only wants to eat products without alfalfa!

My precious guinea pig has had a rough 6 months. I've spent literally hundreds of dollars over the last 4 years to find alfalfa free pellets for my furry friends. None of them would have anything to do with it other than "funny" (non-nutritive pellets) bits and the occasional flaked pea inside. My Zoe Guinevere recently had a stone removed and there was so much sediment in her urine it looked like she had another one at the vet for analysis. I was distraught because she didn't eat anything but a bite or two in the ICU. She only ate dill and couldn't eat her c-chews (I think she also recently lost a tooth or somehow chewing is more of a chore for her lately). I gave her some tonight, thinking she had nothing to do with it either, and SHE ate it! The very first time! PLUS I was so scared that she wouldn't be able to chew her vitamin C supplement after her surgery that she wouldn't heal (this has been a separate issue with her chewing lately). Come and find out that she doesn't need it anymore, it seems to be all she needs and she eats it with pleasure and pleasure! She also loves her lemon leaves and dill. But these were healthy snacks and I was hoping the fresh lemon leaves would provide them with some vitamin C. It's all there and I'm no longer afraid. In fact, I think the sludge she has from alfalfa-based pellets might even go away one day :). I would give a hug to the makers of this food because they did a really great job with our guinea pigs making and distributing it! If I'd found it sooner, she might have avoided rock and dirt. Please give this to your adult guinea pigs so they don't have to go through what my Zoey went through. I'm so comforted that she shouldn't have these problems anymore and that's all she needs going forward (although she'll still get some parsley, dill and fruit tree leaves for wrapping her little paws around me ;) ).
