I already have the hub and sensor kit and am very happy with it. When this became available I bought two as I need additional sensors and am curious to see how they compare to the first generation. There are two major design changes with the new feature: - Easy battery swap so it's no longer water. prove. You need to set it high and use the probe to detect water. Built-in siren. Water leakage or depletion monitor. The entire cable can feel water, not just the tip, so you can lay it on the ground and wrap it around the pipe to cover a larger area. However, based on my testing, it takes a bit more water to get through the cable box. The cable is long but a bit stiff so it doesn't lie completely flat on the floor. Another annoyance is that once you wet the cable to test it, you have to unplug it and wait for it to dry before plugging it in. Commission; I even used a hair dryer but it didn't help much lol. The built in siren is good but I already have a dedicated siren connected to the hub. I have not tested or used the water shortage monitoring feature. In my experience, you don't get a notification fast enough because the cable needs to dry completely. Update 29th January 2021 It looks like they have released another cable just for water level detection and it has no slow drying problem.
