100% does not work. I recently bought this router after switching to a 1GB internet service and needed a router that could handle the bandwidth. As I work from home, reliability is very important to me. The first thing that struck me after unpacking this thing is that they are trying to sell you crap. Parental controls, security updates etc. But. however. I had problems with this router immediately after installing it. I'm a software engineer and I understand the iterative process of software improvement, so the first thing I did was update the firmware to the latest version. I noticed that some services are not working well or not all (apps on my phone, network speed tests, etc.). Looking at the router's log file, I noticed that legitimate internet traffic was misdiagnosed as a DOS attack. So I had to disable DoS filter and port scanning as this "feature" doesn't work. This put my network at risk, but at least I could use it. Then my son complained that his PlayStation could no longer connect to the internet. Again, to get this to work I had to compromise another buggy security feature, disable NAT filtering and open it wide. So at this point the router is basically a hub as I was forced to turn off everything it advertised. I keep telling myself that "maybe a new firmware version will come out that fixes these obvious problems." Many times throughout the day, work on the Internet was interrupted. I first ran diagnostics on my cable modem and made sure it was working properly. it was. After restarting the router, the connection is good for a while, after which the network stops working again. I have to repeat this process throughout the working day. I started reading the posts in the NetGear Community window and quickly realized that many other people were having the same issues as me. People suggest that you roll back to a previous firmware version and do a factory reset. This is just ridiculous (see for yourself). Netgear offers 90 days of technical support, which is why I wrote it. A week has passed, no reply. I've rolled back to several other firmware versions, each bringing its own hell to my day-to-day work, but all of this ends up requiring me to periodically reboot my router throughout the day to keep working. I have factory reset the device multiple times. once. Tried all firmware versions under the sun. Just don't buy. you will not be happy I am returning this POS. I will be using my old 8 year old router until I get a replacement. Either way, it's superior to this thing on every scale. Note: I don't even use WIFI. My computer is directly connected via Ethernet. Lord help you if you want WIFI coming out of this thing ;)
