It arrived on time. I immediately opened it and went through the parts; I checked the work of the tripod and installed the clamp for the phone. Everything seemed fine. But I got it for a trip I took a week ago. On this trip I tried to install my smartphone. The clamping mechanism appeared to clamp or seal in its tightest position. My son and I tried many things and couldn't open it. Of course, aside from a picture showing how it adapts to different sized phones, there weren't any instructions. We removed two screws in the bracket and attempted to move them. He moved a little off the top, but didn't slip. I could see an internal spring in place. The other was complex in itself and may have been the cause. As the trip was over and some time had passed since I ordered it I just decided to throw it away rather than worry about a refund. I will not buy such things again without seeing them!
