New Bestie is a carpet rake!

I really appreciate this new friend of mine! We have an Australian Shepherd who does not show any of the amazing "Australian tricks" like agility, obedience or even quick wit. His only trick is excessive hair (and he's AMAZING at it). We also have a long haired fluffy cat. The same trick. We have a newborn and a toddler. A child's face on the floor or a baby's sticky hands + animal hair. NOT = loves. We have a Dyson dc60 animal. Not a cheap vacuum cleaner. It's a good vacuum, but it just didn't remove all the hair from our thick new mid-length carpet. Enter this little angel, the carpet rake. I've tried many variations on the vacuum and computation cycle, but here's what works best for me (with supporting pictures because they're worth 1000 words and blah blah). Collect 1000 Baby Toys2. Rake the carpet to collect lots of hair and fluff up the leftovers3. vacuum4. Watch the baby replace 1000 toys and the dog shake/roll the wool on the carpet5. Repeat endlessly. Rip out the carpet and finish this room with hardwood floors (or shave the dog). Yes, it's a workout. You don't have to go to the gym! This is a $30 deal. Think of all the gym expenses you're saving. That being said, don't laugh at other review posters. It's not that hard to do. I gave birth 3 weeks ago. I am 5ft 2in and 110lbs before pregnancy. It is not so bad. I will say that the bottom where the rake part is bolted to the base is slowly loosened. So I glued it! I don't plan on taking it apart, ever does that work for me. I couldn't find any damage to our very expensive and soft carpet. I love it. It also makes the carpet stand up and look brand new! This would be great for showcasing houses! I've attached photos of the hair collection before the vacuum raked it, what the vacuum collected next, and the minimal amount of hair left after the second raking. I've also included photos of the fluffy clumps so you know what I'm working with. Hope that helps!
