Review on ZOMEI Aluminum Portable Tripod: Professional Compact Travel for Nikon Canon Sony DSLR Cameras by Kyle Larjin

Excellent tripod for the price

An excellent tripod for a semi-professional beginner. The included ball head is better than many comparable clones. The bag is great. I wouldn't say this is a portable lightweight tripod. In fact, it's quite heavy at 3.71 pounds with just the tripod and ball head. However, you will be rewarded with better stability and features compared to other lighter clones with similar design. The ball head on this tripod has three knobs, not just the two knobs I've seen on similar clones. They have one for each degree of freedom, pitch, roll and yaw. Although the pitch and roll controls are not entirely independent. Tightening one axle affects the resistance of the other axle. If you want to block it, this one blocks very well. The yaw motion is very stiff but smooth. I expect it will loosen up a bit over time. I see that you can easily use medium weight settings with this ball head. There are no problems up to 5 kg. In addition, you can not wish. This tripod is quite solid up to the maximum height extension. There is some camera shake at the maximum level, and the best extension level is below that. For me at 5'10" that's no problem. There is enough height for me, even if there is a pull-out shelf below. On my feet I find the Twist to Lock better and faster than the Flip to Lock that many others have Cloning looks. This is a personal choice. The legs are just pieces of rubber and don't have spikes or anything. for Although I also have a slightly smaller and lighter clone version of this from another manufacturer, it works pretty much the same. It will be mine in the car, in the backyard, on the camp tripod.. My other will be for backpacking, on the trail, downtown, etc. For this price I would buy it again.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Something different
