Bought for night shots.

One time installation at purchase. Very easy to use. I was tired of photographing a meteor shower, I survived it without any problems on a pitch-dark night. The ball head came in a separate package; However, I just left it on and turned it around a bit when I put it in my pocket. The legs have knobs that are very easy to install, adjust, use and remove. Tough enough for a Sony mirrorless camera. Has a nice big silver hook under the ball head if you want to get a foothold. Been looking for a…

A significant disadvantage: complete tripods

Update: It's not just about the height. Every single part of this tripod is warped in one way or another. I've struggled to find a way to tweak things to make it work, but there are too many different kinky parts. Finally it's time to send it back. I really wanted to give this tripod 5 stars because most aspects are really great but the plane isn't properly aligned with the tripod so the connection isn't smooth. This is a big problem and shouldn't be taken lightly because if the level isn't…

It was powerful enough to use the Caliber to photograph a solar eclipse.

I bought this tripod to fly. It's compact, relatively light and stable like the heavier tripods I have. It is valued at 20 odd pounds. I have a Sony a57 and a77 with some old Minolta lenses. Of course, the lenses I have are heavy compared to new lenses. Total weight from online specs is around 4 pounds for the heaviest. With the camera on the latch as tight as I could, the camera still rotated and wobbled in portrait mode. This may have something to do with the weight distribution of the lens…

Falls apart easily

I previously gave the Zomei Q666 tripod one star because a broken plastic pad was supposed to keep the leg from falling out (but that didn't happen and it was after only a few uses). I originally bought this tripod because it was affordable and also claimed to hold up to 26 pounds. This was important to me as as my photographic skill and equipment needs increase I need a tripod that can handle heavier gear without breaking my budget. However, I don't need a sturdy, heavy-duty tripod as I tend…

Excellent tripod for the price

An excellent tripod for a semi-professional beginner. The included ball head is better than many comparable clones. The bag is great. I wouldn't say this is a portable lightweight tripod. In fact, it's quite heavy at 3.71 pounds with just the tripod and ball head. However, you will be rewarded with better stability and features compared to other lighter clones with similar design. The ball head on this tripod has three knobs, not just the two knobs I've seen on similar clones. They have one for

It has a camera, but that's it

What you're buying is a decent pair of feet and a poor excuse for a ball head. If you think $50 is a good price for a set of aluminum legs (price at the time of writing this), then go for it, but I would only recommend this tripod to those who don't use a tripod often can and only need one . for stills (not video) or for those buying their child's first tripod that will hold an entry-level DSLR/mirrorless camera. "Detachable monopod" is a joke. It takes some time to disassemble the components…

Well made and very versatile tripod.

Considering the low price this is a well made and versatile tripod. Works particularly well with lighter weight Micro 4/3 mirrorless systems. Also, the seller offers a $10 gift if you post a review with a photo, but the email doesn't work, so no $10 for me. In any case, the case that comes with it is quite heavy, but access is limited to a small zippered area and has to be slided in from the bottom first or it won't go in. remove potential intruder skin. Other than that and the slightly less…
