Does not come with matching thermostat gasket. There were 2 thermostat gaskets and none were correct. Thank goodness my old gasket was fine and I reused it which saved me time and money at the parts store. GM has only made 10 million 5.3L engines with the same water pump and thermostat housing, you'd think it would work with the right thermostat gasket. That issue aside, it arrived in a large random (non-GMO) box that looked like it was doped 12 blocks behind a UPS truck, no peanut wrapper, no air-cushioned plastic stuff, just a water pump thrown into a tattered cardboard box . . It was so bad the box actually had a hole in it from an exposed upper neck of the radiator hose sticking back and forth in the box. The neck actually protruded completely from the side of the box and was dented quite badly around the muzzle flange. So far, so good. Now it is installed on the Chevy and it works perfectly again. I just hope this thing holds up. To be honest I should have returned it and asked for a 'new one' but I didn't have time to wait. What sucks is that I paid extra money for express shipping so I can get it before the weekend. I think it was a joke, I received a part that appeared to have been sent back 6 ways as of Sunday and arrived from almost all 50 states (this is not the original or correct box).
