This works great when using a Lixit pet water bottle.
It's actually a few inches shorter than the bottom of the kennel, which works great when using a Lixit pet water bottle on the door. A water bottle will leak a little most of the time, so a kennel mat a few inches from the door will keep it from getting wet. My dogs love the mat and they like his kennel more with it. He doesn't eat bed or chew so it's safe enough for him.
