Review on 🌑 Coralife 00232 Digital Aquarium Thermometer by Tonya Washington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for measuring temperature differences in a body of water

After diving into my seven-foot-deep, 9,000-gallon carp pond, I felt that deeper water was colder than surface water (because I was shivering in the water). water at an air temperature of 99F). However, I had to prove that the temperature was lower and measure how much lower it was. Of course, the thermometer had to be waterproof. I already had an infrared thermometer to measure the surface temperature (and the air temperature, although the air temperature was available from the weather reports). The day I dived again, the air was 100F, the surface was 87 with infrared and 86 with Coralife, at my feet (the probe was long enough but I'm small), the reading stabilized at 80. You don't have to dive, but the cable and probe are very light, so if you just drop it in the pond, the probe isn't vertical underwater. Instead of submerging, you can just wrap the cable and probe around the PVC pipe and drop the pipe. I also had a newly built quarantine tank. Again, the water below was colder than on the surface (I cleaned the sensor and cable first to avoid cross-contamination), but only 4 or 5 degrees colder than the pond. Since the readings between infrared and Coralife were only 1 degree apart, the accuracy was good enough for my purpose. I think this is a useful tool for any koi owner at a good price.
