It says it's 100% cotton but the fabric is definitely a smooth polyester fabric typically found in cheaper Halloween costumes, the fabric is nonetheless pleasant to touch. Another reviewer mentioned that the pattern turns white as the fabric stretches, she was right, don't order a size that usually fits you. The pattern is exactly the same as the picture, perfect for Miss Frizzle's costume.
