This is a well made, sturdy and well balanced scooter. My niece has seen older kids on two wheeled scooters but she doesn't have that kind of balancing skills yet so I bought her this as a step in that direction. There are many similar three-wheeled scooters. It says it can hold up to 110 pounds! Some of them can handle more weight for older kids, but I'm guessing she'll ditch this design in a year or two. And all the three wheel scooters you've seen are the same size. Also, most scooters have some form of stand clamp, like this one, that opens and closes easily to adjust handlebar height, but doesn't have any sharp edges that can cause scratches. The reason I chose this brand is because the U-pillar is the same light color as the rest of the scooter, not black so it's more visible which is an added safety factor for me.
