Review on Enhanced Viewing ViewSonic VA2855SMH Monitor: 1920X1080P, 4Hz, Anti-Glare, LCD, HDMI by Louis Honeycutt

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I wanted to love this monitor.

I wanted to love this monitor but it kills my eyes and I have trouble reading text in grayscale instead of black. The screen is very bright, which doesn't seem like a problem, but it is. I called the company and the technician instructed me how to change the settings. He said the text should be fine after reducing the brightness. Not so. I managed to turn the brightness down but it still hurts my eyes. Further reduction makes the screen dirty, so it's not an improvement. And the text is still not black. In applications where some elements are written in gray, the text almost disappears. I've tried to see if I can adapt to this, but no, I can't. And that's a shame, because the monitor has its good points. The size (28 inches) fits me perfectly and the color is amazing. In fact the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I didn't get this monitor for viewing photos - I got it primarily for reading text. .Here's the thing, if you have great eyes and I don't, less black, not-so-clear text might not bother you at all. My. It doesn't work for me. Fortunately, Revane allows me to return it.
