The replacement part appears to work well, but making the critical part of the emissions out of plastic is definitely a way to cut costs. This part is in a very cramped, cramped, hard-to-reach area with lots of heater hoses, vacuum lines, and wiring. This part is so difficult to access and replace that I'm surprised I didn't break the unit during the agonizing process. The OEM is metal and can handle my very long needle nose pliers. Whoever came up with the idea of making this part out of plastic should try to replace this device in this particular engine without damaging it.
