I put them in the dishwasher before use as I do all the necessities. come into contact with food. When they came out, the tops didn't match the bottoms. They were close but didn't close completely. I even tried hitting her with a hammer. As I washed them I can't return them so they keep my spaghetti and other pasta until I find something else. I hope I didn't forget that they don't close all the way and spill the contents all over the floor. They fit perfectly in the dishwasher. If you wash them in warm soapy water instead of the dishwasher or use them for something other than food = like tools etc and you don't have to wash them in the dishwasher they will work fine for you. By the way, there was no warning not to wash them in the dishwasher.
