Review on 😴 Lands' End Women's Supima Cotton Long Sleeve Midcalf Nightgown: Luxurious Comfort for a Dreamy Night's Sleep by Sarah Felder

Quality item, after a good wash

At 5ft 8in and weight 150lbs I have a tall stature in £29.98 'light natural sea stripe' made in Peru (not all colors and patterns are offered at this price). The fit is comfortable and looks just like the photo. It extends mainly to the sides and a little up and down. These are high quality clothes. The stripes fit on both side seams and on both sleeves. The fabric is a thick cotton jersey that does not show through in any way, so thick that at first glance it looks like there is some polyester in it. I didn't want to do a "fire test" to find out the fiber content! I can say that it doesn't get sticky when I wear it. Instead, it's breathable and has the soft feel of 100% cotton. A word of warning: It was gross and smelly when I first unpacked it due to a lot of sizing or some type of chemical I was sensitive to. A star would have been deducted for that, but after a thorough wash on a high setting with an extra rinse, it was perfectly fine. I don't understand why Land's End thinks that this type of chemical treatment is necessary for these garments. Another thing I didn't like initially was the color; not dark blue with a pure white stripe, but rather "natural" as she described. The word "natural", a well-worn marketing term, makes me suspicious. However, bleached whites don't do for the earth, and just out of vanity I prefer cool colors, which I look better most of the time. I thought it actually looks pretty good, and gosh it's only a nightgown! Buy a quality product that will last. I hope it competes well with the more expensive Calida nightgowns I've owned for years. Very satisfied, I can recommend.
