The threads look fairly unremarkable but are holding up better than expected. An Allen key that can be used as a screwdriver is a nice touch. I screwed one 3/4 into medium soil, not hard or wet/soft soil. I used a rope to pull them straight up, the weakest stake attachment, and they held on until a piece of ground about 8 inches in diameter gave way. Much better than I would think based on the flat-looking carvings. easier than I expected. The thread actually pulls the stake into the ground after about the first inch or so. After that first inch or so, downforce really wasn't needed. I was also able to twist the stake back out of the ground with the Allen wrench. Setting them at a normal incline of about 30 degrees away from the workload will hold them until the ground gives out. I am very happy. I haven't used them enough to appreciate durability, but they should feel and look good. to VG.
