I just installed this modem to replace my Optimum modem and am very happy so far. Once connected, all it takes is a call to Optimum and 10 minutes with a technical specialist to get registered and up and running. Optimum charges $10 a month for their modem, so now with my two new Rokus and Hulu Live, all I need is Optimum for internet service. Even with HBO, Showtime, and Netflix, I'm saving about $60 a month on total television costs. Cutting the cord (at least for the TV) couldn't be easier.
