Continuous heating - temperature control is useless TERRIBLE!

This heater stays on all the time when it should turn off when the water reaches the set temperature. I have to constantly monitor the temperature throughout the day and unplug/plug it in when needed. As stated in the description, there is no indicator light to show if it is working or not. If it were, it would always be on! One end has signs of corrosion on the ceramic and appears to be the only part that gets hot. The plastic on the other end where the "temp knob" is has developed slime which is not good for my aquarium. Do not buy!
