I don't know what brand I had before but this one doesn't suit me. I had 2, one for me and one for a friend and she wore hers off. I was afraid that it would rub my tire too much, but the handle at the end of the moving alternator actually has a groove worn from the many uses, it's not the quality I had before (hence the removal of the star) . It has lasted many years and never worn out, I just couldn't find it anymore. It was only a year before they started dying. I've been trying to figure out how to make it stay fully functional and not wear out. I haven't figured it out and haven't found a place to buy parts for them (and I don't want to buy a new one, what a waste). I like the headlights themselves, the bulbs had to be changed, but otherwise they are fine. One of these blew up in the mail but the packaging came loose and everything fell apart, a few screws were lost (hence the removal of another star) and we had to use some of our own that weren't the ideal length.
