I recently used it to test two 100ft HDMI cables installed in a project and was getting a jerky display. I connected to the first one and it tested fine. I then disconnected the wire while the battery was still on and connected to the second wire. Bad test. I went back to the first cable - it also turned out to be bad. I pressed the TEST button and again both cables failed the test. I ended up trying to turn off the tester and wait a minute to turn it back on. Every time I did this each cable was tested well. If I tested the cable and then hit the test button, the cable would ALWAYS fail. Sometimes it reported a short circuit, sometimes an open circuit. This behavior does not occur with shorter cables (3 feet).
