Blades wear out quickly, foil doesn't. You don't need to replace the foil unless it's damaged. The blades themselves can now be purchased for $20 per set. The original Panasonic blades only lasted 5 months before the shaver offered to replace them. They should last a year! The Arc4 gives me a great shave (the best I've ever had with an electric razor) but the blades have to be changed way too often. However, I will only use a razor for a great shave. Just buy replacement blades separately if needed, no foil.
