This is a little misleading as the photos in the listing make what they call a 'hood' appear to stand alone and be much thicker than it actually is . It's literally a very thin, soft, fluffy - very flexible - material that the cat has to manually hold down and push into. My cat doesn't do this, just lies down on it like a regular cat bed. I think it's thin enough that it looks like it's just bed art. I put the treat in my pocket and held it open and my cat came in and took it out, okay, but she's not concerned or interested in snuggling up to the stuff on her own. (I dragged her in once on a cold day and she liked it, but she won't go back in even if I lift the curtain). As for the bed, it is soooo soft and very fluffy! She is luxurious and wraps around my little one easily - and she is a large and long cat at 15lbs. She looks very comfortable laying in this thing. The color is also very pleasant. Washes easily too - although I wash cold and tumble dry very low. So the "hood" seems useless to my kitten, but maybe other kittens will appreciate it. : ) Have a successful day! :)
