This is my second 50mm lens since I started photography. My first 50mm was for APS-C (crop sensor), after switching to FF I bought 35mm, 85mm, 24-70 and 70-200. These lenses are great when you need to capture a specific image or when usable space is limited. I missed this lens in my portrait series. This lens is ideal when you're short on space, only want to shoot 1-2 subjects and want to focus on the subjects at hand. The image quality with this lens is amazing, I love the reddish/magenta tint of the Sigma lenses in their profiles, it's better than the muddy green that comes with APS-C lenses. The only problem is that of course the focusing is not as fast as the native ones. ProsSigma Art lenses are phenomenal Long focal length for FF cameras Phenomenal image quality for Sigma lenses Gives a red cast (better than green on APS-C cameras) Cons Lens is HUGE and difficultSlow to focus compared to native lenses. I'm not sure if you want to use this for events
