These repair panels were exactly what I needed and expected for the shelf. The metal needs to be strong enough to support significant weight if needed - at least for your typical home needs. Update: keep an eye on the price. I got more for about $6 and was again happy with the purchase but decided to buy another pack and the price was down to $11.46. I hope the price goes down again because I don't think 4 repair panels alone will cost twice as much.
