Review on Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Open Studio Headphones - High-Quality Sound for Professionals by Anand ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

As someone who uses media for entertainment purposes at home but is not a professional, this is merely my personal opinion. Consequently, I have the Sound X-Fi Elite pro, as well as the Audio-Technica ATH-M20 and the Senhi HD-448 headphones for comparison. 1. Music. I frequently listen to regular mp3 files in addition to dvd-a and flac files. They will sometimes shoot in rock compositions, such as those by Guns N' Roses, and other times they will shoot in electronic music. In general, there is a very good attention to detail; however, there is no "musicality," meaning that it is not very enjoyable to listen to. Take for instance my Senghs HD448 as an example. I can play games while Armin's sets are playing in the background for anywhere from one and a half to two hours without really noticing that they are playing, but I still enjoy the sound. Because of the powerful bass in "buyers," I am unable to listen to the music for more than thirty minutes at a time. This is primarily due to the fact that my soft and tender eardrums begin to rumble after only ten minutes of exposure to the music. Either a timbre or an equalizer will have to be used to lower the bass levels; however, this will result in a loss of depth. 2. Games. When viewed from this angle, they are simply impossible to shoot. Stunning precision, a sound that is very clean and enjoyable. Excellent positioning (but thanks to the sound card). I tried it out with a few different types of gaming headsets, such as the "Razer Kraken Pro" and the "Steel Siries Siberia," but neither of those even comes close to the performance of the Baers. 3. Movies. It's all about making a music comparison when comparing movies and video games. The sound in the films is very calming and gentle, and there is a lot of attention paid to the smallest details. It is not even necessary to have some kind of recording that is of high quality in order to do this. I even went so far as to watch some sort of interview on YouTube. During that time, you could hear someone behind the scenes rustling through their bag, birds chirping, and someone else rustling through their leaves. I am stunned about this in general! When using the headphones that were given earlier, either this is not audible at all or it is so muddled that you do not pay attention to it. As a consequence of this, I selected the rating of 5, despite the fact that at first I felt terrible about my decision. However, just like wine, as time goes on I find that I enjoy their company more and more.

Pros
  • 1. Powerful bass, meaning that they are capable of producing unbelievable lows for headphones (if you turn on all sorts of gains in the source) 2. Good and strong assembly (I have Made in Germany); pleasant to hold in hands, pleasant smell; the assembly does not wheeze and does not make extraneous noises (sometimes when putting on for the first time there is some kind of crack at the place where the cups are attached, but it doesn't bother me at all); the assembly does not wheeze and does not make extraneous noises (sometimes when putting on for the first time there is some kind of crack at the place where the cups are 3. A robust and thick cable that is twisted; when it is in its twisted state, it appears to be short, but when there are no issues, it lengthens several times without any perceptible increase in tension. 4. Despite the fact that it appears as though they would put pressure on the head due to the powerful design, to my surprise, I do not experience any discomfort even after sitting for three to four hours straight. In the summer, when it's hot, ears don't sweat at all.
Cons
  • 1. Only when the volume is turned up very high does the full beauty of the sound come through. 2. Too much bass, and mumbling even when the volume is turned down 3. A sound that is dry, boring, and cold That is to say, the headphones are reserved exclusively for use in professional settings and recording studios. Not suitable for home entertainment. It is impossible for me to use these headphones for an extended period of time because the sound they produce is so harsh and there is no "enjoyment" in the music's arrangement. 4. A high level of resistance 5. The nearly total absence of sound insulation in the room.
