Smells artificial, but moisturizes.
Very strong lemon smell, similar to Pinesol. I think it works fine. The directions say to leave it on for 15-20 minutes but I find the longer you leave it on the better. I haven't slept with them all night but I usually wear them for about 1 hour. But that's not an overnight miracle. You will still have dry hands, so you need to moisturize them regularly after use. On the plus side, it didn't ruin or detract from my week-long gel manicure.
