"Just make sure I'm beautiful. " โ€”What, does the camera already have such a function? (C)

My previous DVR was from Aliexpress. The device turned out to be very decent and worked for almost 5 years. It would have served longer if it were not for the defective adapter that I got to replace the failed original one. The camera needs 5 V, and the adapter, as it turned out, did not lower the onboard current at all, which means that the camera received a voltage of at least 12, and sometimes up to 14 V. In short, something burned out there, but I did not bother with repairs and decided to purchase a new device, but with a quality at least similar to that of my previous camera. Settled on this model. The device is from the budget category and costs 69 AZN, which, translated into rubles, will be approximately 3,042 rubles plus a one-year warranty. The box is quite informative, but all the characteristics are exclusively in English. The package is standard: a suction cup holder, an adapter, a USB cable for connecting to a computer and waste paper without Russian. The plastic quality of the holder is normal, the design is standard, the suction cup is so powerful that you donโ€™t have to worry that it will fall behind the glass due to overheating in the sun. The length of the adapter cable is very long. Its technical characteristics are also standard for most DVRs: input voltage is 12-24 V, output is 5 V, and the current is 1 A. From the front, the camera looks like this. Good matte durable case of solid assembly. On the left there are holes for the speakers, and around the lens there are 4 IR lights. The joke is that the backlight seems to be physically present, but in the menu - I rummaged it from and to several times - there is no night mode, and, as you can see in the photo with technical data, it is indicated in the technical indicators (IR-support). True, the seller's website also notes that there is no night mode. The control buttons are located on the side ends. Middle - enter the menu, arrow buttons - move in it. Mini SD memory card slot. I have it for 16 gigs, but the maximum amount is up to 32 GB. There are more buttons on the right side. With the first and last, everything is clear and so, but the button with the image of the lock is designed to protect the recording from erasure during cyclic recording on the camera, and with the letter M - switches video-photo modes. On top is an HDMI connector and a socket for recharging and connecting to a PC. If my previous DVR could also be used as a webcam, then there is no such function here. The microphone and reset are located at the bottom. Unlike printed information on waste paper, the camera menu is Russified - setting will not be a problem. When you turn it on and off, cool screensavers. Above, in the left corner, there are two light indicators: power on, power. The dimensions are optimal so as not to interfere with the view through the windshield. Three video formats can be selected in the settings. Of these three extensions, I preferred the HD 720P to save disk space. The recording time period can be selected between 1,2,3 and 5 minutes. I set 5 minutes, that is, the files are recorded for 5 minutes each. At the same time, the size of each 5-minute 720P file is approximately 700 MB, so almost 20 files, or 100 minutes of video, can fit on a 16 gig SD, after which new ones will be recorded over the old files. Naturally, a shock sensor and parking and motion sensors are provided. You can also find out about all the chips involved in the settings on the screen: all active functions are displayed on it in the form of icons. It is possible to capture on video along with the date and number of the car. There are no problems with the viewing angle: all traffic lights fall into the field of view of the lens. There are no problems with connecting the camera to a computer or TV set, as well as working with recorded files (move, delete, rename, etc.) - the device is recognized instantly. Above, I mentioned the absence of IR illumination, so when the headlights are on, the recording does not differ in any way from the recording of similar niche cameras with the presence of IR, because the distance at which the light of these 4 small IR lamps is enough is a maximum of 3-3.5 m, and the light headlight hits much further. The downside is that when the car is parked in absolute darkness with IR, at least it will be possible to make out what is happening in front of the car, and this camera is absolutely useless in such a situation, so at night with such a camera it is better to always choose a lighted parking lot. The weak point of all budget DVRs is almost always their battery. In this camera, the same trouble - after a month it almost no longer holds a charge and the battery is only enough to ensure that the settings do not go astray, so you have to turn it on exclusively through the adapter. In a word, a normal budget option for an affordable price, although for such a price it would be possible to use both IR illumination and the webcam function. PS In the video below, you can clearly evaluate the quality of the camera microphone and recording in the daytime and at night, as well as viewing angles.
