When I opened the box I wasn't expecting to receive anything more than a basic dog bark control collar. And for the first few weeks, I used it and stayed cautiously optimistic. My dog REALLY has to STOP most of his unnecessary barking. Fast forward a month and the effectiveness seems to have waned as I thought my dog, a 115# Pitt/Great Pyrenees with a THICK neck, had gotten used to it. So I removed it, charged it and read the instructions. This is the reason for the collar's "problems" - USER ERROR! Save yourself my troubles by making sure: 1) First of all, make sure the collar is tight enough. If you can easily slide a finger under the collar, THAT'S OK! I found it too tight and loosened it; it really wasn't crowded at all. And the main mode of action of this collar is skin contact. Keep in mind that the hair around the necks of most of our dogs is quite thick. 2) Remove the collar after 12 hours. Not only will this give your pet a break, but it will also prevent them from getting used to the corrections. I only have a few issues with this collar: 1) you can't adjust the audio level, 2) the quality of the materials of the collar itself could be better, [just use a plastic collar, trust me! ], 3) the transmitter REQUIRES some kind of lanyard; It's very easy to drop, especially when you're trying to clean up behind your pet while trying to keep them from barking at EVERYTHING as they walk - NOT NICE! 😂 Otherwise, this collar has a very strong vibration and an effective shock function. In 4 months I have only had to use the shock function ONCE, and then only as a last resort. (Be patient when using this product. You will find that most of the time your pet will RESPOND to the beep and/or vibration feature.) Battery life is unrealistic; it rarely needs charging. When this happens, it's a very easy and quick process. I've spent hundreds of dollars to find an effective device that can actually stop barking; THAT'S IT! And the icing on the cake? The seller provides a LIFETIME WARRANTY on this product! I sincerely hope that this "novel" will be helpful! 😁
