I received this backpack when the straps on my old (20 year old?) backpack finally failed. I was looking for something smaller and lighter and found this (I was looking for the lowest price because I just needed a backpack and didn't have time to shop). As I mentioned above, I don't buy backpacks often so I don't have much context to compare, but this one is pretty cool based on my limited experience. It's small and surprisingly light. It definitely fits under an airplane seat or in the gap between the back and front seats in my ridiculously small car. It's easy to carry and the padded shoulder straps and back make it as comfortable as a backpack. It's all in the product description and pretty much accurate. The interior is surprising. The nature of my work is such that I pack 2 laptops - one a monstrous 15 inch, the other a micro 13 inch. The main compartment houses a laptop sleeve that easily fits a 13" laptop, while a 15" laptop can fit an 8 1/2 x 11 planner, notepad, and student workbook. Despite all this, it is still lightweight and easy to transport. There is a neat front pocket with amazing capacity. Now it comes with 4 bottles of headache medicine (I work with teenagers. I don't want your opinion) as well as a notepad with stickers and a small packet of tissues. If I packed it for the night instead of every day, I would see that it would easily hold any medication and toiletries I would need. It's also a bit harder to see, which would make it a good spot for a keychain or wallet, although that would make me a little too nervous. It's not big enough for a full-size journal, but something the size of a stack of index cards will definitely fit in. I haven't done consumer reports where I zip and unzip 'til they break because I'm human, but they're smooth. Haven't tried darning it (besides what is stated above) to check the stitching around the zippers but seems fine. The straps are easy to adjust. Two criticisms: First, the power connector isn't as cool as it looks. You have to plug in your own power supply, which would be nice, except it's not a very good place to plug it in. You also have to take the block out to charge it (at least I would - maybe you're modern PSU users on a whole different level). Second, the side pockets are practically useless. They aren't deep enough for a water bottle and I wouldn't feel comfortable putting my wallet or keys in them. Maybe a multi-tool if that's your thing? I think I would have liked a slightly thinner form factor on the bottom or more padding in the main compartment. what more can i say This is a backpack. It holds quite a bit of stuff and you can carry it hands-free to fight bears. It's incredibly cheap for the features it has, even if some of those features are a bit silly. If you need a backpack this is for you.
