We live in a rural area and the nearest cell tower is 4 1/2 miles away. Usually we get 1-2 bars outside and at best 1 bar inside. Using the mobile phone in the house was problematic, sometimes it worked, sometimes the call didn't go. Did some research on boosters and decided to take a chance after reading the reviews (mostly positive) about them. After you have the device installed and the "antenna" aligned, turn on the power and BAM! Get 3-4 bars at home now! Brilliant! I learned a lot during installation. Download LTE Discovery to your phone. This saved me time looking for the best line of sight to the tower (the app has signal strength bars that change as you move your phone). Also try to mount the antenna as high as possible outdoors. Installed ours on the edge of our roof about 5 feet above the roof line. Once the antenna is installed, use the LTE Discovery to align it as close as possible to the height of the antenna (beware of stairs!). It was noted that the signal strength on the ground was different than at 20 feet. One mistake I made was that I initially installed the antenna and after installing the internal amplifier found that the antenna was almost in line (within 30 degrees) with the amplifier which caused a bit of interference . Moved the antenna to the opposite side of the house which put the amplifier almost 180 degrees from the antenna and got an even better signal! If you buy this device (you should!) take your time, find the best signal path for the antenna and try to place the amplifier and antenna as far apart as possible and you will have a great signal booster! Update: I've been using this unit for 2 weeks now when I installed it to get the best signal and last night I had 4 bars on my phone the whole time. I was even able to stream Monday Night Football on my phone with no stream buffering! Calling was perfect! No missed calls or distortion! Very, very happy with this device!
