This item has a rather relaxed fit. Doesn't work with all inserts as I don't have room to install between earphone tube and insert. I myself use a 4 inch tall. The straight line worked, but the device was crooked. I made some brackets and bolted the pieces to the bumper to make it strong and straight and removed the intended bracket. I leave mine on as the truck is only used for towing. Brushes work better than rubber guards, which simply hit rocks and gravel in all directions. All in all, I had the items I needed for my ultimate goal. Good luck and stay handy.
